Fooducate Yourself

If you wish you could bring your own personal dietitian to the supermarket, consider Fooducate to help you shop for food. An iPhone app by Fooducate, its purpose is to help you scan and choose healthy groceries.

The company that created it is made up of a team of parents, dietitians, and techies desiring to help you make better food choices.

The Fooducate app can be used to:

  • Automatically scan a product barcode
  • See product highlights (both good and bad)
  • Compare products
  • Select better alternatives
  • Dig deeper and learn more about food and nutrition

Fooducate analyzes information found in each product’s nutrition panel and ingredient list–even the stuff manufacturers don’t want you to notice, such as excessive sugar, trans fats, additives, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), and food colorings.

If you have an iPhone, here’s an easy way to Fooducate yourself.
