New in the Gulf of Mexico: Eyeless Shrimp


Via the Huffington Post comes a video from Al Jazeera about some interesting fish turning up in the Gulf of Mexico, including eyeless shrimp. Biologists think these mutations are related to the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010. The American government doesn’t think so. What do you think?

Episode 58 called “Oil and Water” focuses on Sinh Pham, a Vietnamese fisherman in New Orleans struggling with low dock prices for shrimp, high fuel prices, and the uncertainty of the BP oil spill effects on his industry.
